Scott Chapman was one of three Realtors referred to us when we began the adventure of selling our home in New Hope, and purchasing a home in Plymouth. He was referred to me by a professional peer who had great results in her real-estate transaction with Scott. She told me that if I wanted a Realtor that would provide an accurate analysis of our current home, the comparable sales in the neighborhood, and help us find a home that would fit our needs; he would be an excellent choice.
We interviewed all three Realtors and did choose Scott. At our initial interview, he was professional but very approachable; he had already taken pictures of the home and produced a marketing plan for how the home could sell quickly. He came to the interview with several recent real-estate transactions and gave confident suggestions on where to set the price of our home, remodeling ideas to help maximize the amount we could sell our home for, and a gentle approach to how signing up with him as our representative could go. He didn't get pushy or frustrated when we told him we wanted to sleep on his proposal; but respected our wishes for evaluating all of our options and the other Realtors we were considering.
Because he was thoughtful about how we wanted the process to go, we knew he truly had our best interest in mind. We gave Scott our trust the day we signed his proposal and let him guide the sell and buy processes. Every recommendation he made was accurate, relevant, and reasonable.
Scott began dropping in on real-estate offices in Plymouth and New Hope, letting them know he had a great home that would be coming on the market in the next few weeks. Sure enough, one of the Realtors was working with a couple that had to move, had selected a home that they weren't thrilled with but because of timing they had to make a choice. Their Realtor suggested they drive-by our place to see if they liked the location, exterior, etc. They loved it! We wouldn't have known about these folks if Scott wasn't such an excellent networker - he values the relationships with his fellow business partners and doesn't allow the fact that they are competitors to get in the way of what is in the best interest of his client.
The transaction moved quickly thanks to Scott's organizational skills and ability to prioritize. He coordinated all of the home showings, the paperwork, the offer-counter offer dance and our home was SOLD the next afternoon! We never had a For Sale sign ordered or placed in our yard. The family bought our home and we hadn't even finished the interior remodeling projects yet! It was perfect.
The Closing was well organized and went without any problems.
As it pertains to the discovery of the perfect home and subsequent purchase, Scott was even more diligent in his execution. He listened to us. He knew exactly what we were looking for. He previewed dozens of homes that presented well on the Internet and that may have been contenders, but when actually inside he realized would never fit our needs. Scott saved us time. He presented 5 or 6 homes to us for consideration, and in the end 3 were of strong interest to us. The other quality about Scott is his amazing amount of patience. My husband and I are very analytical and we don't make decisions quickly. Scott never pushed, got disappointed, or frustrated with us. He was always positive, optimistic, and truly happy to hear from us every time we called to say"Can we look at it again?"
Scott is very smart and knows all of the details necessary to purchase a home including the due diligence necessary to purchase a home confidently. His business partners (home inspector, mortgage banker, etc) had the same commitment to great work as Scott does. His relationships and ability to communicate with all levels of people (City officials, administration, and bankers) allowed our transactions to be completed efficiently and correctly.
Scott has a great sense of humor. He is fun, loves to laugh, and has a positive outlook on life. He embraces opportunities, and my husband and I consider him a trusted friend and business partner. We feel very fortunate to have him in our world.
Scott saved us time. He was an excellent advocate for us. He was proactive and thorough. If it weren't for his outstanding skills, we believe our home wouldn't have sold before it was on the market, and our family wouldn't be enjoying the perfect home we live in today.
If you would like to talk about our experience with Scott in person, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth and Scott Meyer
